That time we decided to install a watering system in the rain
Mad as it sounds, given that we installed the pipework under rainfall, we now have a fully functioning irrigation system.
The thing is, we got lucky with the wet weather in July (come on: you’ve got to look for the positives after how wet it’s been).
It’s a lot of work watering this many beds. And the clever thing about the new system is that it turns off when it’s raining.
This pipework will save us hours of wandering around with a hose or a watering can – vital if you get a sudden dry spell. Some plants are less able to withstand that than others.
Look: told you we needed irrigation – it was raining in the first photo but dry by photo three. We know what we’re doing.
It’s a busy time. We’re harvesting fruit and veg thick and fast to stock the Pantry. This pipework will be a massive help.
Till next time. Maybe I’ll see you on the plot?
